INSTRUCTIONS

INSTRUCTIONS

In class, we were instructed to divide into teams for the project. After getting a team, we immediately discussed what topic we wanted to make for this project. We made 3 options including sea pollution, the importance of using VPN, and endangered animals. Not all of us are familiar with the VPN topic and we thought that the endangered animal topic was too general. Hence, we decided to with sea pollution. However, Mr Shamsul suggested we dig into a more specific topic in that area. We then chose to talk about sea pollution in Southeast Asia because, after preliminary research, we realized that Southeast Asia east the biggest contributor to sea pollution.

After that, We divided our task for the Flip presentation and compiled our research in the slide.

3. objective of video (1) alya
4. target audience (1) jordan
5. key info & data (2)rafa jovan
6. sources references (all)

Here is our Flip Presentation:

After Presenting, Mr. Fauzi approved our topic and told us to stick with the style of the slide because it is suitable for the target audience. However, we need to deduct the information so it is not overwhelming. We then created a miro board to brainstorm the video.

We divided our work on the video again. I am responsible for making parts of the storyboard.

Storyboard

Before making the video, we had a discussion. We agreed that our video is gonna contain a fish main character that will walk through the audience about the facts. Here are the storyboards I made. I was assigned to make the facts an figure part.

Here are other storyboards created by my teammates:

Animating

Then the animation team tried to create the animation using Canva. But when we consulted, Mr. Fauzi said it wouldn't be fair if we're only using Canva's elements. Hence, we decided to change and use After Effects to animate and illustrate our own elements.

To save time, I was assigned to help with the animation. I will be animating the facts and figure part. Once I received the elements, I began animating. My animations are simple, I focus on transitions when the elements come to the scene and make the main character move using the puppet tool. After animating, I sync the timing with the voice-over.

Here are other animation processes from my teammates.

FEEDBACK
Week 1
Mr Shamsul said that we should go with the sea pollution topic but make sure that it is more specified. Hence, we chose to talk about sea pollution in Southeast Asia.

Week 3
After presenting our Flip presentation, Mr. Fauzi said the illustration is good and we can continue to try animate it in canva.

Week 5
We were told to add duration in storyboard. Make sure it does not exceed 3 minutes.

Week 6
We were told to try illustrating our own elements instead of using canva elements.

Final Video (Youtube)

This project has made me realize that it is quite challenging to deliver information using visuals. But in my opinion, knowing the target audience first would make it easier for us to make this video. This is because we can imagine how our target audience would react to the video. For example, our primary target audience is children, hence, we made our wording simple and used a cartoony illustration style which typically would intrigue more kids.

Overall this project is very fun and insightful. I feel like it is now easier to create infographics since we are guided by the LATCH theory. Not only that, this project was not as frustrating because we got to do it in groups which made it a lot easier.
